About the Game
Lead a pair of heroes from a starting city to a final boss in a turn-based tactical fantasy campaign. Outfit both characters, choose a route across changing biomes, and prepare for whatever waits at the next stop: a dangerous encounter or a city where you can shop, sell equipment, and rest.
Fight for Every Advantage
Combat unfolds on a hex grid, with four action points per character each turn. Move, run, charge, aim, attack, reload, draw a weapon, or use an item. Positioning matters: walls block ranged attacks, while obstacles and intervening combatants make shots harder.
When an attack comes your way, spend action points to parry or dodge, or reserve them for attack. Snare enemies, use holds, and stun attacks to disrupt an opponent before they can act.
Tests use pools of classic six-sided dice, based on a character’s skills and characteristics.
Build Two Heroes
Earn XP from defeating enemies and winning battles. Improve characteristics and skills, or spend XP on talents that change how your characters fight. Choose equipment to suit your approach, from swords, axes, and shields to bows, crossbows, pistols, and throwing weapons. Armor, ammunition, reload times, and healing items all factor into your plans.
After a victorious battle, both heroes receive the full XP reward, and you can assign recovered items to either character. Each hero regenerates a little health between map stops, but there’s no room for a careless loss: if either character dies, the run is over.
Plan your route, prepare your pair, and see if they can make it to the final fight.
